Every October, artists all over the world take on the Inktober drawing challenge by doing one ink drawing a day the entire month.
Inktober is an artistic initiative created by Utah based illustrator Jake Parker aimed to improve ink skills and develop positive drawing habits.
Helsinki International Artists Association embraces this great initiative with some of its talented artists: Chris Fraser, Ismo Suhonen, Jessica Soueidi, MariC illustration, SannaH. Art, Timo Ala-Vähälä, Semra Türkmen, Hong Liu-Sertti.
We would like to thank Jake Parker, amazing artist, for creating such an interesting project and gather together artists from all over the world who are ready to get involved in this creative challenge.

Who is Jake Parker?
“Hi, I’m Jake Parker, an illustrator based in Utah. For the last 15 years I’ve worked on everything from animated films to comics to picture books. I’ve lived in six states, working at the best studios with the most amazing and talented people in the country. Now I freelance out of my home studio.
I created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve my inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year.”
